Episode 71

Last Episode Recap:

Our story last left off with Sweet Justice making the trek northward towards Gordek. Their purpose was to gain some insight on Valcann's sword known as the Sword of 1000 Victories. The party secured passage across the Canomis Sea by contacting their old friend Captain Daelius Vrago. He agreed to take them as far as Port Town and would make other arrangements to ferry them upstream on the Emirlan River towards Gordek.

After a few days of travel, the party made a quick detour to the dwarven city known as Gul Maldur. When they arrived, they realized that the city was in ruins. They spent several hours attempting to move rubble from the caved in entryway to clear a path inside. As they worked through the night, undead creatures emerged from the ruined city and the surrounding area. The party fought back against the undead assailants, and during the battle, a scouting party from Gordek arrived during the melee. The newfound allies assisted the group, and they all defeated the undead creatures.

The Gordek patrol agreed to escort Sweet Justice back to the city of Gordek. Upon arrival, they explored the grand city while a meeting with Xarlug Tusk was arranged. Later that afternoon, they spoke with Xarlug in his luxurous office. He agreed to get Valcann information about his cursed sword in exchange for the party gathering some of Xarlug's lost trade goods. It was apparent that Xarlug may have recognized Valcann's sword as well.

 However, Xarlug informed the group that this expedition would need to have the blessing of the Chieftan of Gordek…a frost giant by the name of Magnus Helmgrim. The group made the trek across the city to Ice Watch to seek an audience with Magnus.
