Episode 73

Last Episode Recap:

Our story last left off with Valcann fending off undead spirits and a skeletal giant deep within the ruins of Gul Maldor. The rest of Sweet Justice were able to swiftly come to Valcann's aid and ultimately defeat the creatures. After the battle, the party decided to keep watch and take a short rest before delving further. During their rest, they heard crying further down the corridor but decided to finish tending to their wounds before checking it out.

After their rest, the group went towards the crying. When the party arrived, they saw a guard and another dwarven man calling out for help in a flooded chamber. They described that there were more people hiding deeper in the room. However, the group observed small slimy tether attached to each person in the room and also found the room smelled faintly of sulfur. Sweet Justice decided it was best for them to not fall into a certain trap and run from the room…away from the hidden oozes that were waiting for them in the water.

As the group went deeper into the ruins, they found themselves trapped in a large room as statues began pouring poisonous gas into the air. Facing certain death, the group was able to open the enchanted locking mechanism, and force the gates open just in the nick of time. The following chamber was built over a large pool of water. They narrowly avoided another trap and saw that Xarlug's lost goods were submerged in the water. After fending off some water elementals, the trade goods were now in the custody of Sweet Justice.

After securing the goods, the party continued onward to find a large floating gem on a deis in an otherwise empty room. This particular gem was exuding undead and necrotic energy. The party agreed that the gem needed to be destroyed. Before Sweet Justice attempted to destroy the gem, a whole in reality appeared behind them near the entrance to the chamber. Both the Black Herald of the Grove as well as the last Facet (which have been known as Vinposters by the group) stepped out of this rip in reality.
