Episode 75

Last Episode Recap:

Our story last left off with Sweet Justice returning to Gordek after their delve into Gul Maldur. They made their way to Ice Watch to report back to the Chieftan Magnus Helmgrim. The party informed the frost giant the fate that befell their Dwarven trade partners. Satisfied by their report, Magnus dismissed the group. Sweet Justice then went to speak with Xarlug Tusk to return his previously lost shipment of black pearls in exchange for information about Valcann's sword.

Xarlug initially tried to withhold information from Valcann and the rest of the party, but Valcann was able to persuade him otherwise as they had made a deal. Xarlug told Valcann that he had previously seen the sword over 25 years ago. He described a man with sandy blonde hair wearing robes and an elderly Halfling woman at the shores of Lake Rhagesh. The man then threw the sword into the lake, and the pair left back to the south.

After fishing the sword out of the water, Xarlug was able to sell the item and jumpstart his business ventures. He also said he saw the same group again around 15 years later. They were seen around the Lake again looking for something…perhaps the sword? The pair went into Gordek and began asking vague questions about the magic item, but did not find the answers they were seeking. Xarlug last saw the two people headed to the frozen north towards the Muldur mountain range.

Bryn used Sending to attempt to get answers from Zundae about these two occurrences, but she was purposefully tight lipped about the situation. This led the party to go into the frozen wastes themselves to find their own answers.
