Our story last left off with Sweet Justice continuing their trek into the frozen wastes toward the Muldur mountain range. After studying their map of the region, the group headed in the direction of the uncharted region of the mountain range. During their travels, the party ran across a group of Verbeeg brigands. These ne'er-do-wells launched a surprise attack and attempted to rob Sweet Justice of all their belongings. The apparent leader of the Verbeeg went through a transformation and became a bear-like creature before their very eyes. Ultimately, Sweet Justice was able to defeat the group; however, Raun was bitten by the bear creature causing a lingering wound between his neck and shoulder. After the battle, the party attempted to gain some information about the region before letting the two remaining Verbeeg escape into the wilderness.
After a full week of hard travel, the party came across a cave opening about fifty feet high into the side of the mountain. The party all eventually made their way into the mouth of the cavern. Valcann stealthily led the way further into the cave. As he scouted the area ahead, he felt a hand grab onto one of his wirsts and the bladed edge of another hand at his neck. The hooded figure then asked, "Valcann..what have you done?" The realization hit that Valcann had finally found his Sensei Gin.
Sweet Justice learned that Gin was indeed a former member of the Silent Hand, but he fled their order once he was given the Sword of 1000 Victories. Jezroth, the entity of the sword, revealed to Gin that he is doomed to be the Wand of Orcus. Gin enlisted the help of Zundae to aid him in getting rid of the sword. He then founded the Shoya Lake Academy and served as Sensei until the Silent Hand found his whereabouts and burnt it to the ground. He called on Zundae once again to help find a place to hide, so he couldn't be found by the evil powers in the world. After Valcann and Gin shared a long embrace, he told Sweet Justice that Zundae was coming, and she'll know what to do.
