Episode 78

Our story last left off with Sweet Justice and their allies immersed in a battle against the forces of Sellone. Their nemesis, Baron Voss Kreel, had just entered the battle with a retinue of forces. As the fierce battle continued, the protective barrier Bryn had put around Gin subsided. Za'vras used this opportune moment to fireball the entire battlefield in an effort to break Gin's concentration on the ritual. This fireball even included his own forces. Luckily, Bryn countered the spell keeping it from erupting.

This course of action surprised the Baron, and he pleaded with the Archmage to not fire upon their own troops. Sweet Justice observed this tension and attempted to persuade the Baron to leave Sellone's cause. However, Za'vras took offense to this and cause great pain to the Baron by pouring some sand out of a small hourglass.

With Gin no longer protected, Za'vras assailed him with high level spells which ultimately broke his concentration on the ritual. Gin then entered the battle after seeing almost all of his allies lying unconscious in the snow. After clearing some opponents on the field, Za'vras saw the Sensei was vulnerable. More attacks were launched agains him until he fell in battle. The Archmage Za'vras then took Gin's body and teleported away from the battle. Collecting what he needed for his plans.

After the battle, Sweet Justice made a tenuous alliance with Baron Voss Kreel in an effort to stop Archmage Za'vras' plans. The Baron also informed the group to gather any allies and to stop Ramcrown and Vantis from fighting as this was all part of the Archmage's plans. The Baron informed the group that he would wait for them at the base of the Spine Spires to lead them through the Crag Pass and ultimately to Kular'halas.

The party then took to the skies riding on Zundae's back to reach the Lich, Ophiar Zasim. When they arrived at his tower, the lich's apprentice burst out of the tower and informed Sweet Justice that something was wrong.
